Turning Your Messanger Room into a Facebook Live broadcast Makes it Easy to Go Live With Up to 50 People

A new feature coming up for Facebook users to broadcast live to Facebook from Messenger Rooms. Facebook introduced the new way to go live with up to 50 people and they can then further expand the viewership of that discussion by streaming to Facebook Live. This new move would be offering a good option for hosting panel discussions, interviews, and other events and reaching more people with the content.

Room creators can broadcast their room to a Profile, Page or Group, and invite people to tune in.
The live viewers won’t be able to join the room but they can watch and comments using the regular Facebook Live tools. All the users in the messenger room have to opt-in/out to participate when they get a notification to join the live broadcast.

As per Facebook:

“People are turning to Facebook Live more than ever to stay connected. Live broadcasts from Pages doubled in June 2020 compared to the same time last year, largely attributed to broadcasts since March 2020. From artists raising money for efforts they care about and local zoos hosting daily safari adventures to congregations coming together for worship and couples exchanging vows, people are finding creative ways to connect through Facebook Live.”

This new broadcast feature will be opening new avenues for marketers and promoters as such broadcast can reach a lot more people than a live-stream.

Facebook says, these new changes will be reflected in some countries on Facebook and Messenger web starting from 23 June 2020, and will soon expand to all countries where Messenger Rooms is available as well as to the Facebook and Messenger mobile app and Messenger desktop app. They will be adding more enhancements to the broadcast feature over the coming months.
