Facebook’s NPE Team has Released a New App Called ‘CatchUp’ to Facilitate Group Phone Calls

New App CatchUp

Facebook’s NPE (New Product Experimentation) team released its sixth new app CatchUp, facilitating the chat between friends, providing the capacity to see when your friends are online, and up for a voice call.

The app will help to check who is available to join one-on-one or group calls making ‘catching up’ easier than ever. It ignores the possibility of making an appointment to call someone. As the app describes: “Any time you’re free to talk, CatchUp!”

Users have options in the app to set when they are free to chat and they can make a group of the available team to make a group chat. When you are connected via Bluetooth, the auto availability function will automatically update your status.

Although you can call people through Messenger with the added option of using video as well, the ‘CatchUp’ allows an additional function to see when people are specifically up for an audio chat. The option to see when people are free to chat and then connect to talk is the USP of the app. The app is currently being tested in the US, on both iOS and Android.

You can find CatchUp on the App Store and the Google Play Store.
